It’s probably not going to give you the same sort of visual fidelity of a nicer camera, but for $230 the new AIPTEK PocketDV 4100 looks like a fun diversion, with a 4-megapixel sensor and a 1.8-inch color LCD screen. Keep in mind that the 4100 doesn’t use tapes. Instead, it has a Compact Flash slot that supports, well, as much Compact Flash as you can afford. I suspect that the 4-megapixel sensor is actually 4-megapixel this time, instead of the 2-megapixel CCD that’s in the SD-card-based PocketDV 4500 that is just interpolated up to 4-megapixel.
