Usually, when you lose your keys, it means retracing your steps from earlier in the day for an hour; when you lose a bag, it means trusting the airline to find the luggage. That’s why UGREEN created the UGREEN FineTrack Air Tracker Tags, a set of four Bluetooth tracking devices that integrate with Apple’s Find My app, letting you track your belongings. Each device takes just one touch to pair with your iPhone or iPad, lasts about two years on replaceable batteries, and requires no monthly or yearly fee.
Head over to Amazon to get the UGREEN FineTrack Air Tracker Tags for just $20, down from the usual $26. That’s a $6 discount and 23% off.
Smart tracker tags that can help you find potentially lost items
Find My is why a tag like this works. When your keys are somewhere around the home, the tag is within Bluetooth range, so you simply tap Play Sound in the Find My app to locate them. When your bag is across the country, the tag sends anonymous signals to every iPhone, iPad, and Mac it comes into contact with, and those same devices send an estimated location back to you.
Low-cost tags are typically inexpensive, but they also tend to be short-lived. Their batteries usually last about one year. Once the battery in your low-cost tag dies, you can’t replace it, and you’ll need to discard the entire unit. The FineTrack battery lasts up to two years and is replaceable, so you can open the Find My app on your iPhone or iPad, see how much life is left, and swap the coin cell instead of buying a new tag.
UL4200A certification covers child-safety requirements for how difficult it is for children to remove a coin-cell battery from the tag housing. That may seem minor, but it matters, because a swallowed coin-cell battery is a serious emergency.
All location tracking functions run through the Apple MFi certification program and use end-to-end encryption, so only you can view the location data the tag generates. None of that data is stored on the tag itself. UGREEN can’t see it, and neither can Apple. Lost Mode offers another way to protect yourself. It lets you add your name and contact information to a lost tag, so if someone finds your bag, they’ll have a way of contacting you. You can also share locations using Family Sharing on iOS 17 or later, so your spouse can find the tag attached to your dog’s collar without taking control of your phone.
At $20 for four tags instead of $26, the UGREEN FineTrack Air Tracker Tags come to $5 apiece, which covers your keys, your wallet, your backpack, and your suitcase. Do note that these are iOS only, so they won’t pair with an Android phone.
