Building your own PC, be it for gaming or creative work, and be an intimidating endeavor. Though, much of the anxiety actually starts well before you drive your first screw. You’re going to begin the build with all the different PC parts spread across you’re table, but first you need to figure out what the parts are even going to be. Budget is probably going to play the biggest role in what you decide on, which is why a sale like this is always welcome. Amazon right now has a handful of AMD processors discounted at the moment for up to 26% off.
Two different processors in AMD’s Ryzen 9000 series and one in the 5000 series are seeing some major discounts right now.
CPUs for Modern Gaming
First up, the AMD Ryzen 9 5900XT is seeing a 26% drop in price. Normally sold for $349, this discount has brought down the CPU to just $260, saving you $89 for a limited time. This CPU has 16 cores and 32 threads and it’s based on the AMD Zen 3 architecture. The processor is unlocked for overclocking and it can reach a maximum boost of 4.8 GHz.
Next we have the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X. This one has come down 23% which brings the price down from $649 to just $499 for a limited time, saving buyers and even $150. This 16-core, 32-thread CU is built on the AMD Zen 5 architecture. It’s also unlocked for overclocking and can hit a maximum boost of 5.7 GHz. You can expect the CPY to deliver ultra-fast 100+ frames per second performance across AAA titles so long as the rest of your hardware can keep up too.
Last, we have the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D. This 9000 series process from AMD has come down in price by 18%. That shaves off $125 for it’s original list value of $699, meaning you only have to pay $574 for a limited time. This processor has many similar features to the previous. Both are 16 cores with 32 threads. Both are built on the AMD Zen 5 architecture and both can be overclocked to speeds of 5.7 GHz. The two will give you nearly the same performance for content creation, video editing, rendering and other tasks of that nature. This one—the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D—edges out the other though in terms of gaming thanks to its x3d cache, so its the ideal choice if gaming will be your main priority.
Note that for all of these processors, a cooler is not included but is highly recommended to achieve optimal performance across the product line.
