Storage drives can cost a ton these days. Prices are at their all-time highs, so upgrading can feel heavy on your wallet. Luckily, Amazon has a few really good discounts worth jumping on right now if you need a new drive. One of our favorites is this 13% price cut on the 512GB Lexar ES3 portable SSD, which drops its price from $150 to $130.
If your devices are running low on storage and you’re looking for a better way to manage all your data while still keeping it close, this spacious drive is worth checking out. And if you need more than 512GB of space, the drive also comes in 1TB and 2TB versions. Those aren’t discounted right now, but we’ll keep an eye on it and update this story if that changes.
Wide compatibility, offers speedy file transfers
If you move between workspaces frequently, you need an external drive that’s easy to travel with. With a compact build and a lightweight design (just 45 grams), this one won’t take up a lot of space in your bags. It can fit in your palm and even slides comfortably in your pocket for when you don’t have the time to find a bag and just want to get going.
Setup is quick with the included USB-C cable. Simply plug it in, and you’re all set – without needing to install any additional drivers or follow a complicated setup process. Performance is impressive, with the drive supporting USB 3.2 Gen 2 with up to 1050 MB/s read and 1000 MB/s write speeds for quick file transfers. It also works well with a whole bunch of devices, from iPhone 15 through the latest versions to Android smartphones, laptops, cameras, Xbox X|S, PS4, PS5, and gaming consoles, meaning you can use it across all your gadgets without a problem.
This particular model comes with 512GB of storage, so it’s got enough space to house all the data that does not have space on your internal drives. Your data also remains safe with the Lexar DataShield 256-bit AES encryption software, which lets you create a secure password and automatically encrypts the files inside the vault.
There’s plenty to like here, especially now that the drive is discounted by 13% on Amazon. This $150 portable SSD is now $130. You’ll save yourself a nice $20 with the offer, plus get free shipping. We just recommend grabbing it quickly, as discounts on popular items like this one usually move fast.
