My college roommate had a catchphrase he’d utter to himself every time we left the dorms. “Keys, phone, wallet.” This little ritual of his became a habit of mine as well. It made sure we had all the essentials we needed on us whenever we headed out the door, and it kept us from accidentally locking ourselves outside. These basic belongings we all have are what get us through the day, so it’s crucial to always know where they are—and when you don’t, to be able to locate them easily. Phones are simple enough since most these days have some sort of Find My Phone function, but what about our non-smart accessories like our keys and wallets?

This is where the Apple AirTags shine. They can provide location finding to pretty much any item you’d like, and right now, Amazon has them at a discount. Normally sold for $99 for a pack of four, the current deal brings them down $10 to just $89 for a limited time. That shakes out to just about $22 and a quarter per AirTag.

Always Know Where Your Things Are

Apple’s second-gen item trackers make for a terrific way to keep tabs on the stuff you hold near and dear. It utilizes the Find My app available on Apple devices. If you were to misplace your iPhone, either leaving it behind in a ride share or somewhere in the bar you visiting the night prior, you’re able to log in and find precisely where it was left. What could have been a nightmare just got demoted down to a small inconvenience.

An Apple AirTag functions exactly the same, except the idea is that you can tag it onto something that doesn’t already have its own location tracking ability. You can add it as a keychain onto your car and house keys, stick one in your wallet, or into the front pouch of a backpack you use frequently.

If you every misplace the belonging you’ve attached an Apple AirTag to, all you’ll need to do is log onto your iPhone, Apple Watch, MacBook, or even just any web browser to locate the lost item. In cases where it’s not “lost” lost, as in you know it’s somewhere in your home and you’re just not sure where exactly, you can trigger the AirTag with a ping. This will have it emit a chime through its built-in speaker, allowing you to find it from just the sound.
