Reading with an actual, physical book in your hand is irreplicable for many avid reads, though it can’t be denied that going digital doesn’t have it’s own advantages. For starters, you can fit an entire library worth of reading material in a purse. A tablet the size of one book can hold the content of thousands, giving you plenty of options of what to read when trying to travel light. However, the disadvantages can’t be denied either. Using a standard tablet for reading can be a bit strenuous on your eyes, and the glossy backlit screens become near unusable when laying outside in the sun. Though, those pain points can be made a complete non-issue with the right e-reader. Amazon’s Kindle Colorsoft is that right e-reader, and right now, it’s on sale with a dramatic discount.
Typically, you’d find this essentials bundle for the Kindle Colorsoft selling for $353, but at this moment, Amazon has marked it down with a 42% discount. That ends up shaving $149 off the top. That brings it down to a mere $204 for a limited time.
Read in Any Light
What makes the Colorsoft variant of the Amazon Kindle special is how it’s screen works. The Colorsoft has a matte quality to it that causes little to no reflection. You can comfortably read it at the beach or by the pool with the sun squarely overhead and no cloud in sight. The reading experience is made to more closely mimic what it feels like to read off of a traditional paper book.
The tech working here is the same as in the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite, a model that has been around for a little while longer. The difference is that version can only display in monotone, black and white. With the Colorsoft, as the name implies, you’re getting a full range of colors on display.
This makes it a better option for reading graphic novels, but also allows you to annotate your reading with colored highlights. You can highlight in multiple colors and even change the size and boldness of the text to suit your reading best.
The Kindle Colorsoft is also fully waterproof, so for real. Don’t be afraid to read it by the water or even while in the tub.
In the Amazon essentials bundle, you’re getting with it a charging brick plus a plant-based leather cover for protecting the e-reader. That cover is available either in black, jade, or raspberry. All three options are part of the deal that takes the price down by $149.
