The Blueair Blue Pure 211i Max is a large-room smart air purifier that filters 99.97% of airborne particles down to 0.1 microns, including dust, pollen, pet dander, smoke, mold, and household odors. Coverage extends up to 3,235 square feet in an hour, or the recommended 674 square feet cleaned four times every 12.5 minutes. HEPASilent dual filtration combines mechanical and electrostatic filtration for quieter operation than traditional HEPA. Wi-Fi, voice control, and PM sensors round out the smart side.

The Blueair Blue Pure 211i Max Smart Air Purifier is currently $270 on Amazon, down from its $350 list price for a 23% discount.

A reliable machine to clear your air throughout your home

HEPASilent is Blueair’s filtration technology, combining mechanical filtration with an electrostatic charge that attracts smaller particles onto the filter fibers. Traditional HEPA filters trap particles through dense fiber mats alone, which slows airflow and pushes the fan to work harder. The electrostatic layer lets air move through less dense filter media at the same effectiveness, cutting noise and energy use. Air first passes through a washable pre-filter that catches larger dust and pet hair, then the main HEPA-plus-carbon filter takes over.

Room coverage scales from small rooms up to open floor plans. Blueair recommends the unit for spaces around 674 square feet, cleaned four times every 12.5 minutes at the AHAM standard. In smaller rooms, air exchanges happen more frequently for faster relief. The unit refreshes 1,618 square feet in 30 minutes on high, or 3,235 square feet in an hour.

The Blueair app and voice assistants unlock the smart features on the 211i Max. Wi-Fi setup takes a few minutes through the app, which then displays air quality readings, filter life, and scheduling options. Alexa and Google Home both control the unit hands-free. Welcome Home mode uses location tracking on your phone to start the purifier as you approach home. RealTrack machine learning also tracks filter lifespan based on your actual pollution levels and usage rather than a fixed schedule.

A small light on the front of the unit changes color based on real-time air quality readings, running from blue for excellent down through green, yellow, orange, and red for very polluted. PM1, PM2.5, and PM10 sensors inside continuously measure particulate matter and feed the reading into Auto mode, which then adjusts fan speed automatically as the air gets dirtier or cleaner. During cooking, a dusty afternoon, or a wildfire smoke event, the fan ramps up on its own without any input from you, then drops back down once the readings clear. The display can toggle between the three PM readings to track specific pollutant sizes.

Blueair sells a range of Blue Pure air purifiers from the 511i Max for bedrooms up to the 311i+ Max and 211i Max for larger spaces. The 211i Max shown here is the top of the Blue Pure line for large-room coverage, positioned as the flagship. At $270, down from $350, the current sale takes $80 off the list price.
