Prime Day fashion is cheap because it’s fast

I want to take a moment to remind you that many of the house brands that Amazon puts front and center are fast fashion brands. Shein’s carbon footprint, in particular, is egregious because of its “real-time” fashion promises, meaning that the minute something pops up in the ether, Shein increases output. Shein is also known for being mum about its manufacturing practices, isn’t particularly transparent on its supply chain, and has been caught stealing styles from indie artists and designers.
