The Anker USB-C Hub for MacBook is a small adapter that connects directly to both USB-C ports on the side of an Apple MacBook Air or MacBook Pro. It’s designed to fit flush with your laptop’s chassis, allowing you to use the MagSafe charging connector while docked. The Anker Hub provides additional connectivity through HDMI (4K @ 60Hz), one Thunderbolt-compatible USB-C connector capable of delivering up to 100W of power, transferring data at 40Gbps, and supporting displays up to 5K, and a second standard USB-C data port.

Head over to Amazon to get the Anker USB-C Hub for MacBook for just $33, down from its usual price of $55. That’s a discount of $22 and 40% off.

A handy USB-C hub for your MacBook that you can take anywhere

This product differs from many generic hubs because of its MagSafe-aware design. Many hubs will block the MagSafe port when connected. This forces you to choose whether you want to charge your Mac or use the hub. The Anker USB-C Hub for MacBook is designed to sit in front of your MagSafe connector rather than block it, so you can keep your battery from running out.

The USB-C port is compatible with Thunderbolt 4 and supports up to 100W of pass-through charging , which is enough to power a 16-inch MacBook Pro at its max speed. The USB-C port delivers data transfer speeds of up to 40 Gbps and display output of up to 5K at 60Hz.

The HDMI port outputs 4K at 60Hz, which matters because older hubs capped at 30Hz produce visible stutter on external monitors during scrolling and video playback. At 60Hz, an external 4K display runs as smoothly as the built-in Retina screen. Combined with the 5K multi-function port, the Anker USB-C Hub for MacBook can drive two external monitors at once for a dual-display setup. The hub also has SD card slots, which are handy when you want to transfer images from your camera or drone memory card with a single accessory rather than purchasing a separate card reader.

Compatibility is limited to recent MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models due to the shape of the hub and the spacing of the USB-C ports. Anker notes the hub isn’t designed for MacBook cases, so the laptop needs to be case-free or use a very thin case. The hub ships with an 18-month warranty.

The Anker USB-C Hub for MacBook is going for $33 right now instead of the usual $55. A Thunderbolt 4-compatible hub with 100W passthrough, 4K 60Hz HDMI, and MagSafe clearance for less than the price of a single Apple dongle makes turning a two-port MacBook into a fully connected workstation a fairly trivial purchase.
