AOpen is hitting on all cylinders this week. Their Media Center Server system looks like a high-end audio component and includes a “vacuum fluorescent display (VFD)” which sounds like a nice-looking LED readout on the front for track and video information, etc.
The specs are quite breathtaking. The system will probably be a sold mosly as a barebones “OEM Media Center” offering that is ripe for rebadging. It supports P4 and Windows MCE and has 7.1 audio out as well as S-Video, YPbPr, and D4 video out.
The standard model include a DVD combo drive and 250GB hard drive and supports 16X PCI Express. 1 ATA and 6 SATA drive connectors offer quite a bit of expandability.
