I could be falling for the press release ‘old is new again’ trap, but if I’m parsing this correctly it looks like the Argus DC 1730, the first sub-$50 VGA digital camera with an integrated color LCD is finally in the stores (it was announced a few months ago), specifically at everyone’s favorite retail monolith, Wal-Mart. The DC 1730 comes with 8MB of internal, non-upgradeable memory and a USB connection.
Photography Blog has the original press release detailing all four of Argus’s new cameras, including the more attractive DC 1770 with a 1.3-megapixel sensor and an SD card slot (although no integrated LCD display).
