Nathan Lewis has fixed his drooling problem the steampunk way, in this photo set of demented Arizona steampunk art, shot by MAKE magazine’s Becky Stern.
Lewis calls his device a “drool collector.” It looks a lot like part of the automatic feeder apparatus that Charlie Chaplin tested in Modern Times, thus giving it even more steamy cred.
We’ve also got Damian Johnson’s Octophone, an extremely useful cephalopod communications device. Very important for the Queen’s aquatic exploration regiment you know.
And here’s something from Arizona State artist Kris Waid-Jones that looks like a cross between a helmet and a brass intestine. I love that it really seems like you could strap it to your abdomen and use it as some kind of steam-driven digestive system. Or to your brain for the same purpose?
