Looks like AT&T is trying to beat Sony Ericsson to the punch. They’re giving their Homezone subscribers the option of using their Web-enabled cell phones as remote controls for their Homezone DVRs. Homezone is AT&T’s satellite TV meets IPTV service. It lets you get sat TV programming from Dish while offering Internet-based services from folks like Akimbo. Is the new phone feature worth looking into? My guess is probably not, especially since it’d probably zap your cell phone battery in no time.
