AT&T Lets You Control Your DVR with Your Mobile

Looks like AT&T is trying to beat Sony Ericsson to the punch. They're giving their Homezone subscribers the option of using their Web-enabled cell phones as remote controls for their Homezone DVRs. Homezone is AT&T's satellite TV meets IPTV service. It lets you get sat TV programming from Dish while offering Internet-based services from folks like Akimbo. Is the new phone feature worth looking into? My guess is probably not, especially since it'd probably zap your cell phone battery in no time.

Uh, did you even bother reading the article you linked to, Louis?

...to use their mobile handsets to remotely view listings and schedule or delete recordings from their DVR...

The thing isn't supposed to take over the pause/play/skip functionality, it's to allow you to schedule via your phone's web browser. My TiVO has this and it's a really damned useful feature.

Whoops, your bad, player.
