Rumor has it that ATI will be announcing their answer to Nvidia’s MXM laptop videocard specification with a standard of their own called ‘Axiom,’ which they may officially announce as soon as next week. While modular videocard options for laptops is a Good Thing, it’s almost certain that the MXM and Axiom will not be interoperable, meaning you’ll still be stuck with one vendor in your upgrade path.
That picture is totally not real, but it amused me to think of tiny fans mounted to tiny video cards.
