It looks like Motorola is pulling the MPX 220 from Best Buy (and presumably other stores) to fix a glitch with the ear-piece speaker. Apparently quite a few customers have been returning the phone with complaints of low volume. Fortunately, it looks like Motorola can tweak it with just a reflash, so all the models produced can be sold after the fix and not just junked.
A lot of the Best Buys already have the reflashed phone, so if you’re having problems with the speaker volume (or the mic, too, I gather), you might want to give them a call and see what their exchange policy is. (Thanks, David!)
