Stranger Things is back and breaks away from some of its nostalgia crutches to reveal a surprising endgame for Hawkins’ heroes. Eleven’s connection to Vecna’s history and the alliances she has to forge to save her friends has raised the stakes in ways that amp us up for season 5’s series finale.
