Book People Random House Teams Up With Games People THQ For Ebook and Game Creation

This will be one of those behemoth marriages where everyone benefits—a little like Brangelina, and we're all the adopted kids. Ebooks, graphic novels and online/console/phone games are expected to come out of the partnership, which will see books spinning out of successful game titles.

This comes a year after book publishers Random House started plots for video games—according to the WSJ, they've since created 15 game stories, but haven't managed to sell any yet. [WSJ]

Gizmodo review: This site used to be all that and a bag of chips, not only did they have great articles by some very gifted writers actually on the topic of technology, but they had a nice community built up where you could share your opinions with others, get different points of view on things, or just talk and hang out.

The leader of this amazing clan then decided to make a horrible decision, he killed the entire site with a horrendous layout change, now the whole site feels like a popup, you know the sites you download special blockers to not have to see. I get spammed with ads on the top of the site, on the right navigation bar, on the bottom, they put ads over the articles, they disguise ads as articles and reviews which is worse than the blatant in your face ads.

The stories they write about now are no where near the caliber they used to be now. They seem like tweets, or facebook posts, nothing with substance, nothing here that can't be found everywhere else. Every article seems like a cry for help, like the writer is being held captive against their will and being forced to write this drivel in order to make the head honcho a few ad dollars.

It pains me to come here anymore, what used to be a pleasant experience is now frustrating, trying to upload an image is a hassle, trying to comment is a hassle, trying to find stories you are interested in is a hassle, trying to keep up with certain people is a hassle, the entire site is a jumbled mess of crap. The leader refuses to listen, many people have voiced their opinions, many have made desperate attempts to get him to go back to the better layout, all with no avail. His desperate attempts to turn a once great website into an ad revenue generating gold mine have failed and we, the commenters, have suffered.
