Broccoli History Via Cameraphone

Produce giant Dole is introducing a new Japanese service that will allow cameraphone users to track the history of their fruits and vegetables by scanning a special “QR” barcode. The service is even more exclusive than Japan-only at the moment — for now, the only vegetable history available is that of broccoli. Everyone knows where broccoli comes from: the crunchy, cold depths of nutritional hell. But at least now you’ll know which hell, and which creaking iron cart was used to haul it from the depths where flavor goes to die.
