Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario has said no to the addition of Wi-Fi networks throughout the campus because of the potential health risks that are associated with electromagnetic fields produced by Wi-Fi signals. The refusal was issued by Lakehead University President, Fred Gilbert. He directly noted a study done by the California Public Utilities Commission that stated tumors and other diseases can be caused by electromagnetic fields. For the Lakehead students, sorry. On-campus Wi-Fi is potentially the greatest amenity for the modern student, and it looks like you will have to wait a little longer.
