The good news is that the Sony Ericsson S710a—the highly-anticipated 1.3-megapixel cameraphone—is here in the States, via Cingular. The bad news is the price: $500 with a contract. While the phone is nice, and the pictures it takes are a cut above almost every other cameraphone picture out there, it’s a bit ridiculous to pay more to get this EDGE-capable phone when you could pick up a Treo 650 for less. Don’t know what they were thinking here, but it seems like a mistake to me.
