OSX users hoping for a Sync program for their Sidekick II aren’t going to be very happy at the news that’s coming out of a developer mailing list, which indicates that a team of coders have already developed an iSync client—and Danger/T-Mobile won’t let them release it. While the isolated faux-connectivity of the Sidekick II really makes syncing a secondary concern for most of its users—and who knows what the rationale behind T-Mobile’s decision is—this is a perfect example of how a closed platform can needlessly cripple your $300 device.
