I wouldn’t expect a review from us of the Creative Zen Micro—Creative’s PR guy can take the time to beg us to remove the leaked images from our site but conveniently forgot we existed after they launched the product—but everything that’s coming in from the initial reviews sounds solid. I played with one at DigitalLife and thought it had a lot of potential and these reviews do nothing to dissuade me from that opinion. With a built-in FM radio (with recording), voice recording, calendar syncing, and a whole extra gig of storage over the iPod mini, there’s really no reason not to buy the Zen unless you really don’t like the scroll strip. I expect the iPod mini will be getting a bump soon—either a color screen or a 6GB hard drive—but until then, I’d definitely consider the Zen if you’re looking.
