Deadline reports Andrew Dice Clay has joined the cast of Lizard Music, Benny Safdie’s upcoming film adaptation of the Daniel Pinkwater book, in a currently undisclosed voiceover role.
The Lord of the Rings: Shadow of the Past
During his recent appearance at the Emmys, Stephen Colbert provided THR with an update on the Lord of the Rings movie he’s been co-writing with Philippa Boyens and Peter McGee.
That’s what I’m doing. That takes a lot of time, man. You ever written a Lord of the Rings movie? It’s a full-time job. Literally, I woke up in New Zealand yesterday. I flew here for the Emmys. Yesterday, [when I was in] New Zealand [it was] was tomorrow there. I went from yesterday to tomorrow, so I don’t know how many days today has been. What did I say in my speech? I was hallucinating up there.

Deadline also reports KJ Apa (Riverdale) and Nadia Parkes (The Spanish Princess) are attached to star in Obey, an upcoming horror film from director Sophie Kargman (Susie Searches) The the story is based on a script by Ryan Farhoudi, though details on the plot are currently unavailable at this time.
Minute Mark
Deadline additionally has word Harvey Keitel, Britt Robertson, Dean Norris, and Tom Berenger have wrapped filming on Minute Mark, a “psychological thriller” co-starring Kit Lang from directors Illya Konstantin and Geoffrey Cowper. Said to “take place in real time across a single day in Atlantic City,” the story follows “corporate dealmaker Mark Montero (Lang)” who “receives a phone call informing him his wife has been kidnapped and is being held on a livestream watched by hundreds of thousands of people around the world. Forced to wear camera-equipped glasses that broadcast his every move, he must complete a series of increasingly impossible tasks across the city to keep her alive — all while being watched, directed and manipulated by a mysterious figure known only as Preacher. As the day spirals out of control, Mark is forced to confront not only the man holding his wife but the life he has spent too long neglecting.”
Vested
Deadline has our first look at Vested, an upcoming werewolf movie starring Nick Nolte and Milo Gibson. According to the synopsis, the story is “set in a remote, decaying mountain town” and “follows a fractured family bound by an inherited legacy of violence and secrecy. When a series of brutal deaths expose a hidden bloodline curse tied to the full moon, two estranged brothers are forced to confront their past—and their father—before the violence consumes them all.”
In the Grip of Terror
A group of travelers seeking refuge at an eerie hospital swap scary stories in the trailer for In the Grip of Terror, the first film from Amicus Productions since 1977.
Black Sheeps
A deadly pathogen sprung from the genetically-engineered ruminants of Black Sheep create human-animal hybrids in the trailer for its sequel 20 years later, Black Sheeps.
You Can’t Leave
All who enter a cabin the woods finds themselves trapped forever in the trailer for You Can’t Leave, coming to select theaters this October 16.
Pluribus
In conversation with Deadline at the Emmys, Vince Gilligan clarified that writing is still underway on the second season of Pluribus.
Season 2 is not technically all written. We’ve broken it out, which is the hard part. In other words, the plot of all episodes. The first and second are written. The rest of them are in various stages of being written, but we know what the whole season is, and we will share it soon with Rhea. Sometimes the actors, like Karolina and Samba, sometimes they don’t necessarily want to know. They kind of want to be surprised, which I kind of like that.
Crystal Lake
In a recent Instagram post, Crystal Lake showrunner Brad Caleb Kane denied that Jason Voorhees will be revealed as a “gov’t super soldier“, victim of the MKUltra program, “demonic parasite“, Roy Burns, or “SpaceX” in light of the latest trailer. The trailer features a closed laboratory door with an emblem bearing an erlenmeyer flask labeled “Argonaut” as Officer Dorf opines to Pamela, “What would the good people of Crystal Lake say if they knew what you and Jason really were?”
The Dark Tower
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Mike Flanagan confirmed his planned Dark Tower TV series is still “very much on the table,” but requires “an enormous commitment from a studio” in order to “do it the way I wanna do it.”

Finally, Amazon has released the episode titles of all eight episodes of Mike Flanagan’s Carrie.
