Lars at Wireless Watch Japan has a short and fun video interview with Tokyo-based cell phone customizer Syouji Koyama, who operates a boutique in Shibuya where he mods Japan’s already attractive phones with banks of LEDs and other solderific goodness. And if I was doing the translations in my head correctly, Koyama’s work isn’t even that expensive—$70 to $300 for a flashing and glowing keypad modification.
When is this going to start in New York, and when will they be ready to use lasers instead of LEDs? I want to put someone’s eye out.
