People in Gaza have been blockaded by the Israeli government for about a year, and as a result gas prices in this small region have skyrocketed. To deal with the situation, two Gazan entrepreneurs innovated a way to convert old Peugots into electric cars — their technique only costs $2500 bucks, and the newly-electrified vehicles have 15 horsepower and can travel at a top speed of 60 mph. Which is just fine for people living in a slim stretch of land only 25 miles long. [Gas 2.0]
