Amidst all the other news at Star Wars Celebration Europe yesterday was the discovery that David Goyer, writer of pretty much all of DC movies made this century, will also write something starring the Dark Lord of the Sith for ILM’s next VR project.

Details are scarce (if you’ve seen anyone reporting it’s a VR movie, that’s not been confirmed in the slightest), but here’s what Goyer had to say about it:

When we looked at all the characters, places, and worlds in the Star Wars universe available to us, we asked ourselves, ‘What haven’t we seen before? Who are we curious about? Darth Vader is the perfect ambassador to usher us into the Star Wars VR universe.

That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. However, the last ILMxLAB VR experience, Trials on Tatooine, was pretty awesome, so we’re willing to give it a shot. If you’d like your own shot at enjoying Trials, good news—it’s coming to SteamVR for free this Monday, July 18.
