So I just wanted to thank everybody who sent in tips about gadgets and software for small business owners. There were some really great ideas in there and I hope to compile a few of the best into an article at some point in the near future. I should let you know, though, that I totally bombed at that speaking gig last night. I don’t know how Doctorow does it—staring out over a swamp of disinterested faces who see you as the last line of defense between them and free, watery booze (Amstel Light, argh!)—I don’t think I’ve ever felt more disconnected from the mindset of corporate America in all my life. Yes, that sort of disappoints and surprises me.
So just to let you know, in the future, I will only be accepting speaking engagements at pre-school graduations and events that are listed “post-kegger.”
