Dell UltraSharp 2405FP

Dell’s rumored 24-inch widescreen LCD flat-panel screen is here, in the form of the UltraSharp 2405FP. The new model has a 1,920 by 1,200 pixel resolution and a 12ms response time (that means it will nearly no blur in games and movies or other fast-moving images). In addition to the 4-port USB hub that’s standard in the nicer Dell monitors, it will also include a built-in 9-in-1 memory card reader. I don’t know who’s making the panels in these monitors, but if they are anything like the Philips panels inside the 2001FP, this is likely to be a gorgeous screen.

While it’s been announced, finally, the 2405FP isn’t officially available until March, and will likely retail for around $1,000. I’m already trying to figure out how to justify one. (Thanks, Ed!)

Update: Some of you are speculating it’s a Samsung LCD panel. That would be fine with me, as they make fine screens.
