Denon is showing off this update to 1993’s S1 amplifier, dubbed the PMA-SA1 (the ‘S’ is for ‘Sensitive’). The amp is a 30kg metal shelf-monster that Denon claims can stand up to the best tube amps around, and uses manufacturing tricks like a sand-molded condenser plate designed to soak up vibration. I’m sure it’s filled with plenty of other tricks, as well, since it retails for nearly $6,500.
