I have a dirty secret: this is the first time that I’ve held the MPx. And as typical with meeting any internet crush in real life for the first time, I’m really surprised how huge it is. In phone-mode, it feels gigantic. In PDA mode, it feels better, but still awkward. Maybe it’s hard to tell the size in the big meat mittens that pass for my hands.
You see that big plastic lump on the right side? It makes using the D-pad really, really hard. And that keyboard, which I’ve been so forgiving of, despite the fact that the oddly-shaped keys portend nothing but frustration, is sort of hard to type on. It’s not that the keys themselves are bad, but the odd shapes make typing weird. Have I mentioned the keyboard is odd?
An aside: wtf, stormtroopers!
On the plus side, performance was snappy for a 200MHz phone. Still on the potential hotness list, but still feel sort of taken-aback.
