If you’re in the business of making short form video for apps like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, their might be a huge factor you’re overlooking—audio. Recording with just the built-in mic on an iPhone or Android smartphones indicates a lack of polish. It tells your audience you don’t care about the details and it just makes for a worse viewing experience—so much so, you’re followers and others being served your content will likely just scroll on through to the next video in their feed.

Give your audio its time of day with the help of a good microphone, or two. Amazon has this DJI Mic Mic bundle which comes with two microphone transmitters, a receiver, and a charging case that can house all of them. This combo normally sells for $99, but its currently 20% off—taking the price down to just $79. That’s right. Even though Prime Day has officially ended, you can still find it selling for $20 off, but it’s unclear when it will go back up so don’t let time go to waste.

These microphones are super low profile. Each one only weighs roughly 10 grams. They can be clipped onto you or your subjects clothing and stay securely in place for long sessions of recording.

Each microphone can receiver can handle a wireless transmission distance of up to 400 meters. That’s a quarter mile you can have between you subject on microphone and the person recording. That gives you a ton of range and versatility for what you plan on shooting, whether it’s filming a walk through the park for your vlog or recording an outdoor interview in a luscious space.

Noise Cancellation

Now, say you’re looking to record somewhere with far too much noise—like an expo hall during a convention. Not a problem. The DJI Mic Mini can handle that with its built-in noise cancellation. It supports two different modes to help reduce background noises. The basic setting is good for indoor, controlled spaces. Strong mode is a well-suited for filming outside (especially around noisy vehicles) or in high traffic indoor places such as that expo hall to help eliminate chatter.

The battery life we’re working with is reliable enough to keep up with busy shoot that can last all day and then some. Each transmitter can receive can run for up to 10 hours each. The charging case helps to extend the total usage to just shy of 50 hours.
