Electronic Arts’ CFO seems pretty confident that the next generation videogame consoles will all feature wireless technology inside. Jenson was quoted as saying “in every living room, we’ll have a wireless hub,” when referring to plans from Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo. He would know, I guess (and hopefully we’ll know about the Xbox 2, at least, by January’s CES).
It shouldn’t be much a surprise. Both the Nintendo DS and the upcoming Sony PSP have built-in wireless, and wireless game controllers have been one of the real standout peripherals of this generation. I wouldn’t mind having both wireless networking and wireless controllers built in to any of the next-gen systems.
