So Febreze, friend of those with pets and not much incentive or will to properly clean, has a new gizmo out, called “ScentStories.” It looks like the gist is that you purchase special discs that tell an olfactory ‘story,’ by rotating through five complementary scents in the space of 30 minutes, like “exploring a mountain trail,” (goats, old liederhosen) and “wandering barefoot on the shore,” (rotting kelp, surf bum). It’s sort of an interesting idea – and it somehow involves Shania Twain, which certainly takes it to a whole new level in my book – and at least the discs are reusable (although they surely expire at some point, by necessity or design).
I might just buy one, because I like to smell things; I’m crazy that way.
