Here's a pic of that new AMD Alchemy-based portable video player from FIC, called the 'Vassili.' It's cool and all that it uses the new AMD chip that does look mighty nice, the specs of the player itself aren't all that impressive: 20GB hard drive, 3.6-inch screen, and USB 2.0. I think it's pretty safe to call this a reference design, as FIC plans to license the player to other companies for rebranding. On the ups, it does include USB Host and an Ethernet port, so there's some promise there.

It also uses Linux, which in recent tests has been shown to not grow beards on at least 20% of its users.
