First-time science fiction author Ben Drexler’s novel, Volare, got a book deal with Bantam Dell. Volare is “the story of an untraditional family unraveling and reconnecting in the wake of a terrible family secret, and a son struggling to navigate his memories and his future after his mother’s passing.” I’m not sure if this is the same Ben Drexler who’s an online activist for the Genocide Intervention Network, or another Ben Drexler. Either way, congrats. Also newly sold: Buzz Aldrin’s memoir of lunar exploration, alcoholism and love, Magnificent Desolation. [Publishers Marketplace (login required)]
