Are smart glasses the next iPhone or are they just another fad? That’s for you to decide and then argue henceforth after you pick up these Oakley Meta AI sunglasses which Amazon happens to have on sale. These come in a variety of colors and styles, but right now, the black frame with black polarized lenses option has been knocked down by 20%. Usually, you’d find these glasses going for $449, but the discount ends up shaving off $90. You’ll now be able to set yourself up with a pair for just $259 for a limited time.

Off the jump, you’ll notice these Oakley Meta AI smart glasses look like they could be a standard, fashionable set of Oakley’s eyewear. Upon further inspection, you’ll note they’ve been suped up with lots of interesting tech. The glasses have Meta AI bake in which works hand in hand with an almost unnoticeable HD ultra-wide 12MPl camera plus five microphones.

When they all come together, you become able to record videos and capture high-quality photos, all by simply tapping o the side of the temple. Even better, you can control them while your hands stay in your pocket, using simple voice commands. You can use the voice assistant to asked questions and learn more about what you’re looking at—even scan a QR code just by staring.

Communicate Across Languages

Something real interesting these smart glasses can do is perform language translation in real time. You can communicate across languages including English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, and Portuguese, with even more language support on the way. Remember the babel fish from The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy books? This works like that, except instead of having to putting a wet leech in your ear, you instead get to put on a cool pair of sunglasses. And this all gets handled locally, too. You don’t need to be on Wi-Fi for it to work. You don’t even need to be connected with your phone.

Pairing with a smartphone does up more you can do with the Meta AI glasses. Download the Meta View app. In that, you’ll be able to access all the photos and videos you take on the glasses as well as set preferences for voice controls and system settings.

Battery life holds up nicely. A single charge should last your for up to eight hours. It comes with a charging case, which brings the total capacity up to 48 hours.
