A full-featured smartphone that’s perfect for your next device upgrade

Samsung’s Galaxy A line has been the company’s mid-range Android series since the late 2010s, positioned below the flagship Galaxy S and Z Fold lines but above budget-tier phones. The A57 leads the 2026 A lineup, offering a closer-to-flagship experience than any Galaxy A phone before it. A slimmer 6.9mm profile and 179-gram weight make the A57 easier to hold in your hand than the previous A56, with an aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass Victus+ front and back.

The 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus display on the A57 delivers a 120Hz refresh rate with Vision Booster brightness that adjusts for outdoor visibility. Colors run vivid, blacks are deep, and the panel supports HDR content from streaming apps such as Netflix, Disney+, and YouTube. IP68 water- and dust-resistance also protects the A57 against submersion in up to 5 feet of water for 30 minutes, so a drop in your pool or the ocean won’t kill the phone.

Triple rear cameras on the A57 include a 50MP main with optical image stabilization, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 5MP macro. A 12MP front camera adds Super HDR support for selfies and video calls. Nightography processing improves low-light shots, and the enhanced Image Signal Processor speeds up shot-to-shot capture. Awesome Intelligence AI features also include Object Eraser for cleaning up your photos, Best Face for choosing the best expression in a group shot, and Circle to Search for identifying objects on screen.

Battery life on the A57 lasts a full day on the 5,000mAh cell, and 45W Super Fast Charging 2.0 brings the phone from empty to about 65% in 30 minutes. Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 6.0 both come standard, and Samsung Knox Vault provides secure storage for your banking apps, passwords, and Samsung Wallet. Six years of OS updates and six years of security patches also mean the A57 will keep receiving Android version upgrades through 2032.

Samsung has been the top-selling Android phone maker in the US and globally for over a decade, with the Galaxy A lineup responsible for a significant share of those sales at the mid-range price point. At $510, down from $610, the A57 drops closer to the launch price of the base 128GB model. If you’re upgrading from an older Galaxy A phone, replacing a broken phone without spending flagship money, or want a Samsung phone with long-term software support, the A57 is a better choice than the flagship S series.
