TiVo will be giving away 40GB Series 2 units at its Alviso, California, offices tomorrow between 11 am and 1 pm to anyone who brings in their cable bill and a gift for charity. It’s not exactly charity work, however, as its generally being taken as a snipe at Comcast, who was supposed to have a DVR solution available for people in the San Francisco area already, but have run into some snags in their deployment. Whatever, really—if it gets you a free TiVo, who cares if they’re being fussy.
