Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook E8010 Review

TrustedReviews gets a sneak preview of the Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook E8010, a new big-boned Dothan-based Centrino machine with a 1.8MHz Pentium M and integrated WiFi and Bluetooth (glad to start seeing more integrated Bluetooth on laptops!). It’s solid, but not without issue, including a touchpoint mouse that doesn’t have its own set of buttons (necessitating two handed use) and a somewhat iffy build quality, although Fujitsu maintains they’ll tighten things in the production units. A Mobility Radeon 9700 pushes the 1,400 by 1,050 15-inch display, and bundled Firewire, USB 2.0 and a built-in SD/MMC slot round out the package. Top-end kit like this doesn’t come cheap, though, as the Lifebook E8010 retails for around $2,500. That’s the price of high performance and good battery life (4+ hours) all in the same laptop.
