Almost two weeks ago, a gang of Somali pirates commandeered a Ukranian tanker packed with weapons and crew. They’re demanding ransom for the crew, and refuse to take no for an answer even though they’re surrounded by U.S. and Russian ships. It’s amazing that in age of high-tech surveillance and smart weapons, a gang of pirates on the high seas can still take a ship and get away with it. Experts are predicting they’ll get their ransom.
