It used to cost you a pretty penny if you wanted active noise cancellation on you’re headphones or earbuds. Now, it’s reached a point where it’s almost just an expectation. It can come in handy practically anytime you’re looking to pop in those earbuds to listen to some music, podcast episodes, or an audiobook but find yourself in a noisy space. If you’re on the hunt for a good pair, you can actually score the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 FE for a great deal right now at Amazon. Usually, these ANC-enabled earbuds go for $150, but for a limited time, you can grab them for just $90. That’s a saving of $60.

Samsung designed these earbuds to feel comfortable enough to wear all day long. They feature rounded tips that can seal in the sound while ensuring they stay snuggly in place in your ear.

Galaxy Buds 3 FE vs. Galaxy Buds 3 Pro

These are technically on the lower end of Samsung’s current lineup of earbuds, so it’s surprising to see that—like the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro—they too feature active noise cancellation. So if they’ve got that in common, what’s actually different between the two of them?

Well, the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 FE employ just a single 11mm driver within each earbud. In contrast, the Buds 3 Pro are equipped with dual drivers in each bud, using both a 10.5mm dynamic driver along with a 6.5mm planar magnetic driver. So with the Pro version, you can expect a fuller sound with better clarity, but that doesn’t mean the FE model won’t sound good too. It’s a bit like comparing 1080p to 4K, but for sound instead of picture quality.

However, that additional depth you get with the Pro model doesn’t come cheap. Samsung lists the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro for $250, with them seeing some discounts here and there. Even at its full price, you’re getting the Buds 3 FE for $100 cheaper and still be able to listen to great sound. That extra bit of audio depth may not be worth to higher cost to you.

While both the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and the Galaxy Buds 3 FE do support active noise cancellation, the performance of the feature on the Pro model is capable of better precision when cutting out those distracting sounds. It can also respond better when moving around throughout a space. Though, the FE model can still work wonders on consistent noises you’re trying to eliminate, like hushing a plane engine when flying.
