If you’re a runner living in the Northeast, you’ll know this has been an especially difficult summer to train in. It’s been a real hot one out there, but with Fall on the horizon, the more comfortable weather will follow soon. If you’re setting goals to get faster or increase your mileage, the best way to do that is by tracking your progress. And to do that, you’ll need a solid watch. Garmin is one of the biggest brands for runing watches, and the company has a wide range of products catered to different levels of seriousness and budget level. The Garmin vívoactive 5 is a good all-around watch for runners and, right now, you can grab one on sale.

Amazon now has the Garmin vívoactive 5 selling for 38% off its list price. Usually, you’d find this running watch going for $300, but the price has come down to just $187 while the deal is active. If you get yourself one now, you’ll be saving a good $113 for a limited time.

The watch face contains a brightly lit and colorful AMOLED display. This shows black as true black with the information like the time, pace, and distance standing out with high contrast so it is easy to read  in any condition, even under direct sunlight.

Fitness Tracking

The Garmin vívoactive 5 is a your personal fitness coach available right on your wrist.  The built-in GPS allows it to log more than 30 strength and cardio sports apps. This includes outdoor activities such as walking, running, cycling, HIIT, swimming, and golf as well as indoor workouts like Pilates and yoga. The watch even supports a wheelchair mode which logs pushes as opposed to steps.

The Garmin vívoactive 5 watch can also track your health metrics outside of your workout. Throughout the day, you can view insights into your heart health, stress levels, and more. One of my favorite Garmin features is the Body Battery, which takes this data along with personalized insights based on sleep and prior workouts to inform your how energized your body is feeling. You can use this to help determine when to go hard in a workout, when to take it easier, and went to just have a rest day instead.

Garmin has the vívoactive 5 smart running watch available in a wide range of color options. You can get it in either slate, ivory, navy, or orchid. They are all on sale for roughly the same amount, ending up between $187 and $190 at the time of writing.
