I hadn’t seen any pictures of Gateway’s new Profile 5.5 PC out there on the wild web, so before I head out into that place with all the really bright light (the alley), I thought I’d pass this one along. Seriously, guys, this one comes from the heart.
You might expect me to say, “OMG it looks just like the new iMac G5,” but I won’t for a couple of reasons: 1) That’s stupid, it doesn’t look anything like it, really, and 2) Don’t be stupid, I’m sure this thing was in development at the same time as the iMac – they didn’t just whip up a flat panel at the last second to me too dear old Apple. Besides, this one is black and has a Pentium 4 in it.
I like all-in-one systems, even if they aren’t really for me. If they could ever figure out how to put real video cards in these things I’d probably start considering them.
Well, if they started pricing them less than $1,400, I mean. Also, Gateway better watch out or I’m going to start thinking they are cool again, which can’t be good for anybody.
