Gawker Media Bulks Up

By

Reading time 1 minute

Thank god this day finally came. Not only does SpaceShip One win the X-Prize, but the trio of “boy blogs” published by shadowy Dr.Claw-type Nick Denton—my boss and mortal enemy—have finally launched. Seriously, it’s been like nine years since they said they were going to launch them and I’ve had to keep all extra quiet while surrounded by the shrill screams of my sister blogs. The boys are back in town, etc. If I had a fist I’d pump it.

I think it’s fair to say that if you like Gizmodo, you should give each of them a shot. Jalopnik is a blog about cars, which despite being a total whore for Audi right now actually talks about other makes, too (and is funny! Who knew?). Kotaku was the video game site they original talked to me about writing, but I’m so glad that didn’t work out—Matt Gallant knows his games way better than I do. And Screenhead is… well, it’s Screenhead. It’s like all the links Gawker editors used to send to each other in private now have a place to go. Trust me, every one of us had tried to work in “Scrotal Safety Commission” in the past, but we needed a new blog to really make it pop.

Welcome aboard, boys!
