The BBC is reporting that the Daimler Chrysler Gem, the tiny little electric runabout with a 40 mile range and a relatively short 7 hour recharge time has gone on sale in the UK. Available in both 2- and 4-door versions, the UK importer ZEV Ltd. plans to sell around 350 of the units in the next 18 months. Even better, the Gems are exempt from the UK road tax and London’s congestion charge.
