Gemini Overlays on Top of Any App

Google’s Gemini AI has already proved somewhat controversial among some dedicated Pixel users, but the Mountainview company isn’t taking any steps back from its grand AI ambitions. Soon, Gemini will gain extra prominence on your latest Android phone. Google laid out its plans to create a Gemini overlay that can hover on top of any of your phone’s existing apps. This will allow users to drag or copy AI-generated images or text into their other applications, such as email or texting. The overlay will also work with YouTube with an “Ask this video” function to get a text summary of the clip. This feature already exists as a beta function for YouTube Premium subscribers, but now users should eventually be able to bring it up from the Gemini overlay. Gemini will also be able to summarize PDFs through this overlay.
