The Ultimate AI Agent in Project Astra
As a newcomer to I/O, Google Deepmind lead Demis Hassabis showed off what he called an AI agent that’s “helpful in everyday life.” “Project Astra” is essentially multiple AI models layered on top of each other capable of understanding text, image, and video. In a prerecorded demo, the team showed how it could describe its environment, remember where it last saw objects, accurately describe the current location, and essentially do everything that was promised with products like the Humane AI Pin and the Rabbit R1.
Some of these features will be added to Google Gemini later this year.
