The Google Pixel 10 Pro is Google’s flagship Android phone, positioned as the AI-first alternative to the iPhone 17 Pro and Galaxy S25 Ultra. Google now owns the entire hardware and software stack. So, the new Tensor G5 processor inside is the first Pixel chip designed entirely in-house at Google rather than adapted from Samsung’s Exynos platform.

The Google Pixel 10 Pro is currently $699 on Amazon, down from its $999 list price for a 30% discount.

A reliable smartphone that’s perfect for Android users

Tensor G5 is where the Pixel 10 Pro takes its biggest step forward. Google designed the chip entirely in-house for the first time, and TSMC’s 3nm fabrication process produces a cooler-running processor with better power efficiency than the previous Samsung-fabricated Tensor G4. Single-core performance jumps 34%, and AI workload performance climbs as much as 50% over the G4. Since Google now controls both hardware and software, features like on-device Gemini processing run without a round trip to Google’s servers.

The 50MP main, ultrawide, and 5x periscope telephoto sensor array from the Pixel 9 Pro carries over to the Pixel 10 Pro. This means the camera bar at the top of each device looks very similar in design and layout, but the way Google uses these sensors has been modified. This modification includes the addition of an AI-based enhancement called Pro Res Zoom, which allows you to take photos digitally zoomed in to 100x. Another improvement made to the camera system is to the front-facing camera. The new 42MP lens now has a 103-degree angle-of-view compared to its predecessor, which is beneficial when taking group selfies. Additionally, this lens has auto-focus capabilities built in.

.The Pixel 10 Pro uses a 6.3-inch OLED panel that refreshes at 120Hz and peaks at 3,300 nits, staying legible in direct sunlight without pushing manual brightness to the top. OLED contrast produces vivid colors and true black on Netflix and Disney+ HDR content, and the display scales down to a low refresh rate when showing static content to save battery. Aluminum framing and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 cover the body, with IP68 water resistance protecting against submersion up to 5 feet for 30 minutes.

Google has committed to seven full years of Android and security updates on the Pixel 10 Pro, which extends support through 2032 and matches the coverage Google introduced with the Pixel 8 in 2023. That’s the longest software support window from any Android maker at this price point, since most Samsung and OnePlus flagships still cap at four or five years. Android 16 ships pre-installed with Gemini AI integrated across the OS, from text generation in Messages to image analysis in Google Photos.

Google’s positioning the Pixel 10 Pro as an AI-first alternative to flagship smartphones from Samsung and Apple, with features that can’t be replicated on other devices, since Google controls both the AI models and the silicon powering them. As part of the current sale, the newest generation Pixel Pro drops from $999 to $699, saving $300 off retail.
