BRENDAN I. KOERNER — Do any Gizmodo readers know the Dutch word for “entrapment”? Cops in Amsterdam will soon begin baiting bike thieves with GPS-embedded two-wheelers. They’ll be locked up in areas known to attract no-goodniks, who swipe 80,000 to 150,000 of the city’s bikes each year. Woe to the intoxicated tourist who tries to go native by swiping a Schwinn, and ends up getting the Enemy of the State treatment from the ‘Dam fuzz.
Update: Some readers say the Dutch word for entrapment is ‘uitlokking,’ while others say ‘valstrik.’ It’s a trap! — Joel
