Krakow reviews the Griffin PowerWave, a USB sound card with a built-in Class-T amplifier, and just absolutely flips for it. The external sound card bit isn’t that impressive—it’s got a fair number of connections, but that isn’t anything new—but when he hooked the PowerWave up to his stereo, he got an level of fidelity he wasn’t expecting out of a $99 multi-purpose gadget. Unfortunately, I’m not an 7th level audio geek, never quite got past hooking up relays of cheap speakers for jerry-rigged surround sound gaming, so I can’t explain to you why the Class-T amplifier is such a nice thing to have. Wouldn’t it be nice if we had regular home audio submissions and stories from readers? (We do, though! Thanks, Phillip!)
